So one of the changes that has been made on the new Weight Watchers Points Plus plan is that fruits have no points and Vegetables mostly have no points.
Why do Fruits have No Points
The people at Weight Watchers looked at the points that are allocated to fruit and tried to find a way to make sure that fruits would somehow be even. As you probably remember on the old system we had things like bananas that would be higher points and then oranges or apples would just be one point.
Even though there are carbs and fiber in fruit the decision was made to make sure that all fruits would have no points and that makes the counting on Weight Watchers much easier now as long as you are eating fruit in some kind of moderation. Remember though that fruit is very high in water and lots of vitamins so there are lots of good reasons that we should hold up fruit as a great food to concentrate on eating.
Vegetables are nearly pointless?
Well if fruit is good then vegetables are even better. Vegetables as well as being high in vitamins are also high in lots of minerals. Vegetables of all kinds mostly have no point value now on the Weight Watchers Points Plus plan except for a few exceptions like baked potatoes and other starchy vegetables.
There is a lot of new calculations that have to be made now on the Weight Watchers Points Plan but at least for the most part the fruits and vegetables that you eat are not counting towards your points.
