Our savoury low-POINTS brownies are a chocolate-lover's dream. Powdered sugar adds the perfect hint of sweet decadence.
Ingredients
1 sprays cooking spray
2 cup packed light brown sugar, (480 ml)
1/2 cup sugar, (120 ml) granulated
3 Tbsp light butter, (45 ml) melted
1 tsp vanilla extract, (5 ml)
1 1/2 cup fat-free egg substitute, (360 ml) liquid
2 cup all-purpose flour, (500 ml)
1/2 cup powdered cocoa mix without added nutrients, (125 ml)
1 tsp baking powder, (5 ml)
1/4 tsp table salt, (1 ml)
2 Tbsp powdered sugar, (30 ml)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Coat a 9x13 inch baking pan with cooking spray.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, granulated sugar and butter. Beat until blended. Beat in vanilla. Beat in egg substitute. Sift in fl our, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Beat on low speed until blended.
3. Pour mixture into prepared pan. Bake 30 minutes, until a wooden pick inserted in centre of cake comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack.
4. Cut into 24 squares and sift confectioners’ sugar over cake just before serving.
